Overview
F+S Design is an interior design studio that needed a complete website overhaul. The project involved rebuilding their existing site from the ground up addressing poor SEO structure, low performance, and an outdated design and replacing it with a modern, high-performance web experience built with Next.js.
1. The Problem
F+S Design's existing website had three compounding issues that were holding the brand back:
- Poor SEO structure search engines couldn't properly crawl or index the site, limiting organic visibility
- Low performance slow load times created a poor user experience
- Outdated design the visual presentation didn't reflect the quality and craftsmanship of a premium interior design studio
For a brand where first impressions directly influence purchasing decisions, a weak website was a real business liability. The client decided a full rebuild was the right move.
2. The Goal
Rebuild the F+S Design website from scratch with three clear objectives:
- A modern, visually refined design that reflects the brand's quality
- Strong SEO foundations so the site is properly indexed and discoverable
- Optimized performance for fast load times and smooth user experience
3. Research & Approach
Before writing any code, I started by gathering detailed requirements from the client to understand their brand style, target audience, and expectations.
To align on visual direction, I curated and presented several reference websites and design inspirations. This collaborative step helped clarify the preferred layout style, aesthetic, and overall feel ensuring both sides were fully aligned before development began.
Once the direction was locked in, I moved forward with designing and building the site.
4. The Solution
I rebuilt the website from the ground up with performance, SEO, and design quality as the three core pillars.
Key improvements delivered:
- Modern UI a visually refined interface that reflects the craftsmanship and premium positioning of the F+S Design brand
- Server-Side Rendering (SSR) via Next.js pages are rendered on the server, making them fast to load and fully crawlable by search engines
- Improved content structure headings, metadata, and page architecture rebuilt with SEO best practices in mind
- Smooth animations with GSAP interactive, scroll-driven animations that elevate the design without compromising performance
- Fully responsive optimized across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices

Balancing animations with performance
The most demanding challenge was achieving a visually compelling experience with smooth, polished animations without sacrificing page speed or responsiveness.
GSAP animations, when not carefully managed, can introduce jank on lower-end devices or slower connections. Getting the balance right required:
- Multiple design and animation iterations
- Performance profiling to identify bottlenecks
- Careful optimization of animation triggers and asset loading
The final result delivers a premium feel while keeping performance intact.
7. Results & Outcome
- Delivered a modern, brand-appropriate redesign within 1–2 weeks
- SSR implementation ensures full search engine crawlability a major improvement over the previous site
- Stronger SEO architecture in place for long-term organic growth
- Client satisfied with the improved design and technical upgrades
- Site currently in final stages deployment imminent
